    Friday 12th March, 2010
    (IANS)

Twenty people were killed and 40 injured Friday when two suicide bombers struck in a densely populated area in the Pakistani city of Lahore, rescuers said.

The attackers blew themselves up near the vehicles of security forces in RA Bazar area as people were gathering for Friday prayers.

Senior Superintendent of Police (Operations) Chaudhry Shafiq told Geo News that both the bombers came on foot. The dead included six security personnel.

A rescue official said 20 people were killed in the bombing and 40 were injured.

Security forces immediately cordoned off the area.

The blasts came four days after a suicide bomber rammed his explosive laden car into an office used to question suspected militants in an upmarket area of Lahore.
